Painting in Pjs: Finger-paint Flowers

Last Saturday morning we did some finger-painting. I love finger paint, but I'm never exactly sure what to do with the pile of paintings the next day. Since the kiddos wanted more art the next day I decided we would turn our finger painted papers into flower collages.

Ellie Blue drew stems with green crayons...
...and cut out "flowers" to glue down. The flower centers are office supply hole reinforces.
The proud pajama clad artist.

Noah used watercolor paint.

He cut out and glued down his flower shapes...

...then he painted on the stems.
With nothing but snow around here it is nice to see some flowers blooming on the refrigerator.

Robot #44

I'm working on a new collection of robots made from recycled papers and packaging. #44 is my favorite so far.

How to survive fEbrUaRY:

Escape to Cleveland, any big city will do. Go to the botanical gardens, be with plants, smell leaves. Stay in a hotel, swim in the pool and turn the room into a sauna. Eat exotic food you can't get at home.
Turn the couch into a fort, again and again.
Surround yourself with those you love.
Dress up and dance around.

Make fun gifts for people.

February is brutal around here. So much snow, not enough sunshine, but we are getting by and dreaming of spring.

she is so much faster than me!

We had a lovely day with my friend Liz and her kids on Monday. I took pictures and planned to post, but Liz beat me to it. So check out her blog http://www.smithical.com/ and see what I would have said.

P.s.
Snow, Snow
Go away
I can not take another day!

U R GR8

I pretty sure they sell adorable Valentine's cards in the store. I'm pretty sure if you plan to make 23 Valentine's day cards you should buy supplies, other than just candy. I'm also pretty sure if you need to make 23 Valentine's day cards and you don't have the supplies, to make them the way you had planned, you should start before 10:00pm.

Knowing and doing are two very different things. I hope Noah is having a wonderful Valentine's Day party today at school and I hope next year I remember they sell Valentines at Target.

p.s. Ruby Dinosaur Bones thought I was crazy too!

bAAAA

Our Amish neighbors have sheep. On the way home from school if the sheep are out we stop the car, roll down the windows and baaaa to the sheep. It is great fun. The other day we noticed the sheep had babies. We raced home, got cameras and raced back to baaaa at the new lambs. They bleated back - they love us. I love lambs....they are so cute....and soooo yummy.

I have also been working on some sheep for a friend and they are finally finished.

Speaking of art...this is my 6 year old Noah's latest piece. He calls it a Clock Compass, it actually is an old birth control dispenser he found in the trash. I'm hoping he doesn't want to bring it for show and tell.
